Affirma is one of the more unusual, original concepts of the Ibanez brand. The Japanese manufacturer often surprises with innovative solutions and the AFR models definitely stand out from other bass guitars. This model belongs to the short, limited edition AFR series produced in 2019. Apart from the distinctive design visible to the naked eye, this instrument has very interesting solutions. The bass is very accessible and well balanced - whether standing or sitting, it is very comfortable to play. What is most interesting, however, is the choice of pickups. Apart from classic, magnetic pickup with character similar to Precision Bass we have Piezo pickup. The pickups can independently or in appropriate proportions. Thanks to the active electronics, the sound spectrum is very wide - from a modern, bright attack to a warm, contrabassy murmur. The AFR 5 model belongs to the Ibanez Premium group and is manufactured in Indonesia. The instrument comes with a practical soft case.
