The Meinl Nino Wood Kalimba - sometimes called a thumb piano - makes pleasant little plinks when the five chrome-plated steel keys are plucked with your thumbs. The kalimba is an excellent way to introduce students to the concepts of pitch and rhythm in a relatively quiet, mellow way. The wooden body is made from solid pine that can tolerate being jumbled around by little hands.
